 The top 40 connector manufacturers serving the Chinese market had 2007 shipments of $5.115 billion, an increase of +18.3 percent from 2006 shipments of $4.324 billion. Chinese connector sales from the top 40 manufacturers represented 72.8 percent of the total Chinese connector market.

First Tier Connector Manufacturers (1-10)

First tier connector manufacturers recorded 2007 Chinese shipments of $3.896 billion. This was an increase of +17.3 percent from 2006 shipments of $3.321 billion. Three of the first tier manufacturers were U.S. based firms, three were Japanese manufacturers, three were Asia Pacific based, and one was European based.

Tyco Electronics was the largest connector supplier to the Chinese market, with 2007 shipments of $1.287 billion. Tyco Electronics accounted for 18.3 percent of the total 2007 Chinese connector market.

The second ranked manufacturer to the Chinese market was Molex Incorporated, which had 2007 shipments of $645.4 million. Molex represented 9.2 percent of total Chinese connector market.


The third ranked manufacturer was Foxconn, which had 2007 shipments of $435.4 million. Foxconn accounted for 6.2 percent of total 2007 Chinese connector market.
