Olin Brass is committed to developing new, high performance copper alloys and coatings for automotive, electrical and electronic end uses. This commitment has resulted in numerous "Olin High Performance Alloys (HPA's)" including C151, C194, C195, C197, C19720, C638, C654, C688, C4252, C5118, C5218, C7025, C18080, C19020, AND C19025.  We have also worked with the industry to enhance Sn coatings with the development of reflow tin, Advanced Sn and A2 surface treatment.  Our foil technology has brought to the market 3 and 5 micron foil (XTF) for high density interconnects.  Each new product, developed by Olin is engineered to the specific needs of designers. Through frequent, direct engineering contact with our customers and end users, we monitor the evolving needs of designers in the automotive, electrical and electronic industries.

Olin produces a complete range of alloys, including coppers, brasses, leaded brasses, phosphor bronze, nickel silvers, copper nickels, copper/nickel/silicon’s and tin brasses.  Our alloy family is carefully engineered for production at our facilities.   Our major facilities include a casting and rolling mill in East Alton, Illinois; a specialized casting and rolling mill in Waterbury, Connecticut (Waterbury Rolling Mills); a re-roll mill in Bryan, Ohio; a specialty foil rolling mill in Waterbury, Connecticut (Somers thin Strip); plus additional production and service facilities in the United States, Puerto Rico, Germany, Japan, China, Singapore and Mexico.

Olins Metals Research Lab (MRL) enhances our technical leadership.  MRL has contact physics and materials experience to conduct studies in metal connector and contact systems for automotive, electrical and electronic applications. A systems approach is used to develop cost-effective coating, barrier layer and substrate materials for varied operating environments. The technical approach utilizes lab tests to simulate service conditions for screening candidate coating and substrate systems in order to reduce development cycle time.

In today's dynamic global business environment, it takes an extraordinary combination of knowledge, skill and resources to achieve and maintain a position of industry leadership. At Olin Brass, our broad range of capabilities, state-of-the-art research, leading edge technology and highly trained employee team have made our company a world leader in the development and production of high performance copper and copper alloy sheet and strip products. Today, Olin Brass provides these products around the world. For more information on Olin Brass, click here.
